Karnak Playhouse comes alive with the classics of Frank Sinatra, Ray Charles, and James Taylor.
Based in Brisbane , The Queensland Youth Orchestra's (QYO) Big Band is made up of   Queensland 's most enthusiastic and exciting young musicians, fresh from the Conservatorium and running hot, bringing the coolest swing north.

Formed in 2000, the QYO Big Band has performed in a number of high profile festivals including Brisbane's River Festival , the Energex Brisbane Festival, the Winton Outback Festival and the Noosa Jazz Festival . Turning audiences on at special events such as the 2004 opening of the Brisbane Museum and the 75 th Anniversary Gala Concert at Brisbane City Hall, is a QYO Big Band speciality.
The conductor, Burke Turner , has performed with Australia 's best jazz musicians, Don Burrows , James Morrison and Frank Foster's Count Basie Orchestra .
Audiences can look forward to a journey through a wide variety of big band styles including Sinatra's Come Fly with Me , Ray Charles' Route66 and James Taylor's How Sweet It Is .
These classics are enthusiastically delivered by Clancy Kneebone , recently returned from her second successful tour of New York and New Orleans as star vocalist with the Brisbane All Star Big Band.
As a vibrant contrast , Karnak Playhouse is proud to introduce Giuseppe Vizzone.
Giuseppe will shoot for the moon with an inspiring collection of unique percussion compositions, enriched with a blend of enticing melodies and heart stopping dynamics.
